Waka Kotahi Fitout,
Wellington

As part of the landmark fitout for Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency’s new national headquarters on Bowen Street, Moth Light supplied key architectural lighting elements that contribute to the project’s calm, connected atmosphere.

Under the main staircase, our Flat Freddie 30 profile provides clean, low-glare illumination—integrated seamlessly to emphasise form and movement between levels. Along the perimeter of key floors, a combination of our newly released Nellie Neon 16 and Flat Freddie 14 grazes light downward at the wall and ceiling junction, softening transitions and enhancing the earthy material palette that supports the project's Ki Uta Ki Tai (from mountains to sea) narrative. Slim Jim 10 is recessed into the joinery.

Designed by Designgroup Stapleton Elliott in collaboration with their Indigenous Design Rōpū, and engineered by NDY, the fitout supports activity-based working for around 1,200 staff and incorporates cultural storytelling, sustainability goals (targeting 5 Star NABERSNZ and WELL Certification), and a rich sensory environment.
