A distinctive presence on the Wellington Waterfront, Circa Theatre has recently undergone a bold exterior upgrade, led by Inside Design. Their concept called for a lighting feature that could echo the velarium’s curves — a form beautifully realised in Kaynemaile, which moves with the wind and reflects the nearby harbour.
Moth Light was engaged to develop a custom lighting solution, and we worked with a local metal fabricator to bring the design to life. The result is a seamless integration of RGBW lighting using our new Nellie Neon 23.
This is the first project to feature Nellie Neon 23: a flexible linear LED system designed to bend on two axes. Its formability and programmable colour output allowed us to follow the sweeping lines of the façade without compromise. The installation can be lit in bright, luminous colour to celebrate national or local events.
