Te Henui
Chapel

Located within the historic Te Henui gates in New Plymouth, the chapel brings together contemporary design and a calm, contemplative atmosphere. A distinctive saw-tooth plywood ceiling defines the interior, introducing rhythm, texture, and visual depth.

Offspring Profiles’ Sideways Sally 5R was carefully integrated to illuminate the ceiling planes and emphasise the geometry of the timber structure. The concealed linear lighting highlights the repetition and form of the saw-tooth profile, while revealing the natural warmth and texture of the plywood.

The lighting remains unobtrusive, supporting the architecture rather than competing with it, and contributes to a quiet, balanced interior suited to reflection and gathering.
