Aotea Quay plays a critical role in Wellington’s road network, acting as a key gateway to the city. It provides a vital northern connection to State Highways 1 and 2 from the city centre. The new roundabout was constructed to replace the traffic lights at the KiwiRail container terminal entrance, improving traffic flow and safety.
For this project, a BEGA drive-over in-ground luminaire was selected to illuminate the numerous pou within the roundabout and the surrounding gardens. Customised at the factory with a specific cable length, the luminaire offers features perfectly suited to the project’s needs, including a 5,000 kg pressure load capacity, adjustable beam angle, IP-68 rating, and DALI control.
With BEGA’s 10-year warranty and a 20-year guarantee on replacement parts, the client was assured of the durability and long-term performance of the luminaires.
