Nestled beneath a great nine-pronged pōhutukawa, The Hut sits as a companion to the original brick and weatherboard house. Designed as both a billiard room and studio, the architecture balances openness with retreat.
Lighting was carefully considered to enhance this dual character. Powerful Watts Up 480 uplights exaggerate the building’s volume, lifting the gaze to the dramatic ceiling and echoing the sense of canopy created by the pōhutukawa overhead. Their indirect light source eliminates glare, ensuring maximum visual comfort in both spaces. Powdercoated in Mannex Black and fitted with PRO-20-27 LED strip, the luminaires integrate seamlessly with the dark green interior palette, amplifying the building’s moody, reflective atmosphere.
