Architectural linear lighting for Wellington City Council’s new offices, featuring curved Nellie Neon and focused Opti-Grazer LED strip.
For Wellington City Council’s new offices at 68 Jervois Quay, Moth Light supplied a range of architectural linear lighting that combines sculptural form with precise technical performance.
A key feature of the project is the curved neon lighting, which creates fluid, continuous lines that respond to the architecture of the interior. Achieving these forms required the aluminium mounting profiles to be hand-rolled, allowing the Nellie Neon products to highlight the curves of the building’s interior.
The lighting package included Nellie Neon 16, Nellie Neon 10 and Slim Jim 10, together with a special “Opti-Grazer” LED strip featuring integrated 20-degree optics for focused light distribution.
Moth Light worked alongside architect Design Group Stapleton Elliot (DGSE), electrical engineer 335 Ltd, building contractor LT McGuinness, and electrician Millars to help deliver a refined lighting outcome that is both architectural and technically resolved.
